Is the carving really done by hand?

Yes — every ornamental pattern, eternity motif, carpet design, and pomegranate vine is cut into solid wood entirely by hand by Hrachya Ohanyan. That is why each carved set takes significantly longer to make than a standard board.

What sizes are available?

Carved chess sets range from 30 cm to 60 cm. Exact dimensions are listed on each product page.

Can I play on a carved board or is it decorative?

Both. The playing surface is fully functional, and the carved detail makes it a statement piece worth displaying even when the pieces are put away.

Yes, to the US, Canada and Europe, on every order in this collection. Other countries pay a flat $100 for tracked delivery (Brazil, Chile and New Zealand $200).

About this collection

Domande frequenti
