Our Story
We didn't start this business in a boardroom. We started it around one.
Why "unumperfectus"?
Our name, Unumperfectus, comes from Latin. It combines "unum" (one) and "perfectus" (perfect, complete), meaning "one perfect" or "perfectly unified." We chose this name because it represents our philosophy: creating games that achieve perfect unity between tradition and craftsmanship. Each piece and board works in harmony to create something greater than the sum of its parts—just as a great game brings together minds in strategic perfection.
Craftsmanship That Tells a Story
Each game that leaves our Unumperfectus workshop carries centuries of Armenian tradition. Our master artisans—many who learned from their fathers and grandfathers—work with indigenous woods from the Caucasus Mountains. They carve and shape every piece by hand, using techniques passed down through generations.More Than Games
These aren't just games. They're cultural artifacts. When you purchase from Unumperfectus, you're not just buying something to play with. You're bringing home a piece of Armenia's soul—a country where strategy games have been central to community life for over 3,000 years. In a chess-obsessed nation where nearly every child learns to play by age 6 (and where chess is actually mandatory in schools), these games represent our national character: thoughtful, strategic, patient, and deeply appreciative of beauty. Our Promise
Every unumperfectus game is crafted to last generations. We use no automation, no mass production. Just skilled hands, traditional tools, and materials sourced from our homeland.
We ship worldwide, bringing a piece of Armenia's heritage to your home. Whether you're of Armenian descent reconnecting with your roots, a serious collector, or someone who appreciates exceptional craftsmanship—we're honored to share our tradition with you.
