Garni Temple Armenian Backgammon Set with Classic Outline by Hrachya Ohanyan
The Temple of Garni, columns and steps in deep relief, set in a round frame on a carved diamond lattice. This is the 60 cm / 23.6″ Armenian backgammon set made by Hrachya Ohanyan in beech, with 32 checkers, a dice set and a branded carrying case.
This is the board for the home that keeps a little of Garni on the shelf, and for anyone who has stood under those columns above the gorge. The lattice wraps the whole lid and follows the curved ends, crossing after crossing, and the temple sits on a darker ground inside its rope frame, so it reads clearly from across the room.
Inside, a warm brown field with pale carved points and a wheel ornament on each half, trays along the sides for the checkers, and clasps that close it into a neat case. For housewarmings, name days and the long game after dinner.

Is the carving real? Yes. The temple, the lattice, the rope borders and the wheels inside are all carved into the beech by hand, and nothing is printed. The colour is a walnut-brown stain under the varnish.
What about shipping and returns? Shipping is free to the US, Canada and Europe, always tracked; other countries pay a flat $100 (Brazil, Chile and New Zealand $200). Every set is covered by our 30-day returns policy.
How do I look after it? Keep it out of direct sunlight and away from radiators. Wipe with a dry, soft cloth and store it closed in its carrying case.

National Master Hrachya Ohanyan began his fine woodcraft in 1985 and founded his workshop in Yerevan in 2010. What products do you make?

Are your products handmade?
Yes. Every piece is handmade and handcrafted for you in Armenia, most of them in master carver Hrachya Ohanyan's workshop in Yerevan. That is why each one takes 1–2 weeks to make.
Do you ship worldwide from Armenia?
Yes. Shipping is free to the US, Canada and all of Europe; other countries pay a flat $100 for tracked delivery, and Brazil, Chile and New Zealand pay $200, always tracked and insured. Every piece is handmade and handcrafted for you, so it takes 1–2 weeks to make. Delivery then takes about 7–9 business days to the US, Canada, Europe and the UK; other regions may take a little longer. Orders over $600 travel by express courier with signature. Tables go by insured furniture freight and arrive about 2–4 weeks after they are finished.
Will I pay customs duties?
US and EU orders are delivered duties paid, so there is nothing more to pay on arrival. For other countries, import fees depend on local rules; write to us and we will help you estimate them.
What is your return policy?
You can return any order within 30 days of delivery, for any reason, worldwide. Faulty or damaged items return free; for change-of-mind returns the item must be unused in its original packaging and you cover return shipping. EU and UK customers also keep their full statutory rights, including a 14-day withdrawal right.

What materials do you use?
Mostly solid beech and walnut, carved by hand. Some boards add epoxy resin, amber stones or bronze details; each product page lists its own materials.
