Eternity Sign Backgammon Set with Classic Outline, Medium by Hrachya Ohanyan
Eight curved blades of the eternity sign, drawn in line on a smooth disc inside a rope ring, on a lid cut into a fine lattice of tiny stars. This is the 50 cm / 19.6″ Armenian wooden backgammon set made by Hrachya Ohanyan, classic outline. Handmade in beech, with 32 wooden checkers, dice and a carrying bag.
This is the board for the Armenian flat with no room for a full-size set — the sign at 50 cm, on a beech body, priced as a first board, not a last one. The whirl is drawn, not raised: eight curved blades sweep out from a pin-point centre across a smooth disc, a rope ring closes it, and round it the whole lobed cartouche is cut into a lattice of tiny stars, fine as a screen, with a rope border on the cartouche and another along the rim.
Open, a honey field with pale drop-tipped points, a wheel of teardrop petals cut into each half and a brass hinge; the back cover carries a small whirl in a rope ring at either side. For the student's room, the summer house, and the family whose table is too small for the big one.

Why You'll Love It
- Drawn, not raised: the eight blades are cut as clean lines into a smooth disc, so the sign stays sharp and the lid stays flat under a hand.
- A screen of stars: the ground round the disc is cut into a fine lattice of tiny stars and edged with rope — the same work as the big boards, one size down.
- Make it theirs: add a name or a date at checkout to mark a birthday, a retirement or years of games together.
Good to Know Before You Buy
Is the eternity sign carved? The sign is drawn: its eight blades are cut as fine lines into a smooth disc, not raised in relief. The carving proper is around it — the rope ring, the star lattice across the lobed cartouche and the rope borders are all cut into the beech, as are the petal wheels and the drop tips inside. Varnish goes over the lot; nothing is printed or applied.
What about shipping and returns? Shipping is free to the US, Canada and Europe, always tracked; other countries pay a flat $100 (Brazil, Chile and New Zealand $200). Every set is covered by our 30-day returns policy.
How do I look after it? Keep it out of direct sunlight and away from radiators. Wipe with a dry, soft cloth and store it closed in its carrying bag.

Yes. Shipping is free to the US, Canada and all of Europe; other countries pay a flat $100 for tracked delivery, and Brazil, Chile and New Zealand pay $200, always tracked and insured.
