Chess Set for Three Players - Classic
Chess for two is a duel. Chess for three is politics. This handmade chess set for three players puts the game on a three-sided wooden board — the largest in the family at 23.6" / 60 cm — with a clean classic face that lets the board and the game speak for themselves. Master Hrachya Ohanyan cuts the playing field from a single piece of wood and finishes it by hand.
The board folds on cast-bronze hinges and clasps, and inside wait 48 wooden chess pieces in three colors — 16 for each player. A wooden chess set like this belongs to the club night that always has an odd number, the family with three players and one table, and the collector who wants the rarest version of the oldest game.

How Three-Player Chess Works
Each player commands a full army of 16 pieces on a three-sided field, and every move has to account for two opponents instead of one. It is chess with diplomacy in it — the game that makes the loudest evenings.

Frequently asked questions
What products do you make?
Handmade chess sets, backgammon boards and chess tables, carved by hand in Armenia.
Are your products handmade?
Yes. Every piece is handmade and handcrafted for you in Armenia, most of them in master carver Hrachya Ohanyan's workshop in Yerevan. That is why each one takes 1–2 weeks to make.
Do you ship worldwide from Armenia?
Yes. Shipping is free to the US, Canada and all of Europe; other countries pay a flat $100 for tracked delivery, and Brazil, Chile and New Zealand pay $200, always tracked and insured. Every piece is handmade and handcrafted for you, so it takes 1–2 weeks to make. Delivery then takes about 7–9 business days to the US, Canada, Europe and the UK; other regions may take a little longer. Orders over $600 travel by express courier with signature. Tables go by insured furniture freight and arrive about 2–4 weeks after they are finished.
Will I pay customs duties?
US and EU orders are delivered duties paid, so there is nothing more to pay on arrival. For other countries, import fees depend on local rules; write to us and we will help you estimate them.
What is your return policy?
You can return any order within 30 days of delivery, for any reason, worldwide. Faulty or damaged items return free; for change-of-mind returns the item must be unused in its original packaging and you cover return shipping. EU and UK customers also keep their full statutory rights, including a 14-day withdrawal right.
Can I talk to someone before I buy?
Yes. Call or message us on WhatsApp at +374 41 777 882 for a personal consultation about any piece. We are happy to send more photos, help with size and engraving, and answer any question.
Do you accept custom orders?
Yes. Tell us what you have in mind on WhatsApp (+374 41 777 882) or at contact@lionlaurel.com, and we will talk through the size, wood and engraving with you.
What materials do you use?
Mostly solid beech and walnut, carved by hand. Some boards add epoxy resin, amber stones or bronze details; each product page lists its own materials.
Is payment secure?
Yes. You pay through Shopify's secure checkout with all major cards, Apple Pay or Google Pay.
