Luxury Lion and Tiger Walnut Backgammon Set, Hand-Painted, Two-Sided by Hrachya Ohanyan
A lion's face lit by golden lightning on one cover, a white tiger struck through with blue on the other, oils on black under clear epoxy. This is the 60 cm / 23.6″ luxury wooden backgammon set made by Hrachya Ohanyan, classic outline, two-sided. Handmade in walnut, resin-filled points inside, 32 checkers, dice from billiard balls and a branded case.
This is the board for the games room with the black leather sofa, the brother who has to have the loudest thing on the table, and the player who wants two paintings and no plain side. The lion stares straight out, gold eyes, yellow lightning forking across the mane; turn the board and a white tiger looks back, ice-blue eyes and blue lightning through the stripes. Each cover is painted edge to edge in a pale walnut frame and poured over with clear epoxy, deep as glass.
Inside, the pale walnut carries points filled with orange and blue resin swirled together, fire over ice, under carved scroll tips, a petal wheel filled the same way in a ring of scrolls on each half, scroll-cut ends to the bar and a stamped brass hinge. For the man cave, the big birthday, and the player who wants a lion on one side and a tiger on the other.

Why You'll Love It
- Lion up or tiger up: both covers are full paintings, so however the board lies on the table there is a face looking back — gold on one side, blue on the other.
- Painted, then poured: the oils go straight onto the walnut and the clear epoxy over them is thick and polished, so the lightning glows with depth and the surface wipes clean.
- Make it theirs: add a name or a date at checkout to mark a birthday, a retirement or years of games together.
Good to Know Before You Buy
Are both animals painted by hand? Yes — the lion and the white tiger are each painted in oils directly onto the walnut cover, edge to edge on a black ground, then poured over with clear epoxy, cured and polished, so the brushwork lies under a hard, glassy layer; the painter's tones vary a little from board to board. The points and wheels inside are filled with orange and blue resin. Nothing is printed or applied.
What about shipping and returns? Shipping is free to the US, Canada and Europe, always tracked; other countries pay a flat $100 (Brazil, Chile and New Zealand $200). Every set is covered by our 30-day returns policy.
How do I look after it? Keep it out of direct sunlight and away from radiators. Wipe with a dry, soft cloth and store it closed in its carrying case.
