Tiger and Octagram Backgammon Set, Two-Sided by Hrachya Ohanyan
A snarling tiger on one cover. An eight-pointed star on the other. Both carved, so this 60 cm / 23.6″ wooden backgammon set made by Hrachya Ohanyan has no back. Handmade in beech, it comes with 32 wooden checkers, dice cut from billiard balls and a branded carrying case.
Pick the face for the evening. The tiger comes at you head-on, ears flat and one paw up, in relief deep enough to hold real shadow; turn the board over and the star's eight faceted points sit quietly in the same carved lattice. Either way up, it looks finished.
Open, it is a full-size game with pale and dark points tipped with fleur-de-lys and a wheel ornament at the heart of each half. The same tiger-and-star pairing as our basket-weave board, on the lattice field, at a friendlier price. For the den, and the player who wanted the tiger.

Good to Know Before You Buy
Is the carving real? Yes. Tiger, star and lattice are carved into the beech on both covers, then stained and varnished. Nothing is printed on.
What about shipping and returns? Shipping is free to the US, Canada and Europe, always tracked; other countries pay a flat $100 (Brazil, Chile and New Zealand $200). Every set is covered by our 30-day returns policy.
How do I look after it? Keep it out of direct sunlight and away from radiators. Wipe with a dry, soft cloth and store it closed in its carrying case.
About the Artist - Hrachya Ohanyan
National Master Hrachya Ohanyan began his fine woodcraft in 1985 and founded his workshop in Yerevan in 2010. What products do you make?
Handmade chess sets, backgammon boards and chess tables, carved by hand in Armenia.
Are your products handmade?
Yes. Every piece is handmade and handcrafted for you in Armenia, most of them in master carver Hrachya Ohanyan's workshop in Yerevan. That is why each one takes 1–2 weeks to make.
Do you ship worldwide from Armenia?
Yes. Shipping is free to the US, Canada and all of Europe; other countries pay a flat $100 for tracked delivery, and Brazil, Chile and New Zealand pay $200, always tracked and insured. Every piece is handmade and handcrafted for you, so it takes 1–2 weeks to make. Delivery then takes about 7–9 business days to the US, Canada, Europe and the UK; other regions may take a little longer. Orders over $600 travel by express courier with signature. Tables go by insured furniture freight and arrive about 2–4 weeks after they are finished.
Will I pay customs duties?
US and EU orders are delivered duties paid, so there is nothing more to pay on arrival. For other countries, import fees depend on local rules; write to us and we will help you estimate them.
What is your return policy?
You can return any order within 30 days of delivery, for any reason, worldwide. Faulty or damaged items return free; for change-of-mind returns the item must be unused in its original packaging and you cover return shipping. EU and UK customers also keep their full statutory rights, including a 14-day withdrawal right.

What materials do you use?
Mostly solid beech and walnut, carved by hand. Some boards add epoxy resin, amber stones or bronze details; each product page lists its own materials.

Yes. You pay through Shopify's secure checkout with all major cards, Apple Pay or Google Pay.
