Luxury Chip-Carved Star Backgammon Set with Classic Outline by Hrachya Ohanyan
Two rings overlapping around an eight-pointed star, and every inch between them cut into small faceted pyramids that catch the light. This is the 60 cm / 23.6″ luxury wooden backgammon set made by Hrachya Ohanyan. Handmade in beech, finished with beeswax, with 32 checkers, dice cut from billiard balls and a branded carrying case.
This is the board for the study with the good lamp, the collector who has the carved ones already, and the player who wants a lid with no picture on it at all. No plain wood is left outside: the rings are ridged like rope, the star's points are hollowed, the ground is a field of facets in three sizes, and the whole surface has the soft sheen of wax rather than gloss.
Inside, a dark field with pale points drawn in fine lines, a star-lattice rosette on each half and the maker's stamped hinge on the bar. The back cover carries a chequerboard of pale and dark squares between two chip-carved fans. For the man who has everything except this.

Good to Know Before You Buy
Is the carving real? Yes — the whole lid is cut into facets from the solid wood: the two rings, the eight-pointed star and the pyramid ground, plus the fans on the back around the chequerboard. The dark colour is a stain in the wood under a beeswax finish. Nothing is printed or applied.
What about shipping and returns? Shipping is free to the US, Canada and Europe, always tracked; other countries pay a flat $100 (Brazil, Chile and New Zealand $200). Every set is covered by our 30-day returns policy.
How do I look after it? Keep it out of direct sunlight and away from radiators. Wipe with a dry, soft cloth and store it closed in its carrying case.

National Master Hrachya Ohanyan began his fine woodcraft in 1985 and founded his workshop in Yerevan in 2010. What products do you make?
Handmade chess sets, backgammon boards and chess tables, carved by hand in Armenia.
Are your products handmade?
Yes. Every piece is handmade and handcrafted for you in Armenia, most of them in master carver Hrachya Ohanyan's workshop in Yerevan. That is why each one takes 1–2 weeks to make.
Do you ship worldwide from Armenia?
Yes. Shipping is free to the US, Canada and all of Europe; other countries pay a flat $100 for tracked delivery, and Brazil, Chile and New Zealand pay $200, always tracked and insured. Every piece is handmade and handcrafted for you, so it takes 1–2 weeks to make. Delivery then takes about 7–9 business days to the US, Canada, Europe and the UK; other regions may take a little longer. Orders over $600 travel by express courier with signature. Tables go by insured furniture freight and arrive about 2–4 weeks after they are finished.
Will I pay customs duties?
US and EU orders are delivered duties paid, so there is nothing more to pay on arrival. For other countries, import fees depend on local rules; write to us and we will help you estimate them.
What is your return policy?
You can return any order within 30 days of delivery, for any reason, worldwide. Faulty or damaged items return free; for change-of-mind returns the item must be unused in its original packaging and you cover return shipping. EU and UK customers also keep their full statutory rights, including a 14-day withdrawal right.

What materials do you use?
Mostly solid beech and walnut, carved by hand. Some boards add epoxy resin, amber stones or bronze details; each product page lists its own materials.
