Russian Coat of Arms Backgammon Set in Line Work by Hrachya Ohanyan
Russia's state eagle, two-headed and crowned, with sceptre, orb and St George, drawn in fine line work on a pale disc in a scroll-bordered ring. This is the 60 cm / 23.6″ wooden backgammon set made by Hrachya Ohanyan, classic outline. Made by hand in beech, with 32 wooden checkers, dice and a carrying bag.
This is the board for the nardy table that wants the emblem at an everyday price — the line-work version, where the eagle is drawn rather than sculpted. Every feather, the three crowns, the sceptre and orb and the small rider on the breast are cut as fine dark lines into a smooth pale disc, so the emblem reads crisp and flat like a seal; a scroll border rings it, a diamond lattice in line work fills the lobed cartouche, and a meander border runs round the rim.
Open, the honey field carries pale drop-tipped points, a flower ornament in line work on each half and an ornate hinge on the bar; the back cover has eternity whirls in the same line work at its corners. For the Russian club night, the dacha, and the player who wants the eagle on the lid and the money in the game.

Why You'll Love It
- Crisp as a seal: the emblem is cut in fine lines rather than relief, so every detail of the arms stays sharp and the lid stays smooth.
- Lattice to the rim: the lobed cartouche is filled with lattice and edged with a meander border, so the plain price does not mean a plain lid.
- Make it theirs: add a name or a date at checkout to mark a birthday, a retirement or years of games together.
Good to Know Before You Buy
Is the emblem carved? It is cut as fine line work — the eagle, crowns, sceptre, orb and St George drawn into the pale disc with a dark line, flat rather than in relief, so nothing catches dust. The lattice, scroll ring and meander border are line work too. Stain and varnish come last; nothing is printed or applied.
What about shipping and returns? Shipping is free to the US, Canada and Europe, always tracked; other countries pay a flat $100 (Brazil, Chile and New Zealand $200). Every set is covered by our 30-day returns policy.
How do I look after it? Keep it out of direct sunlight and away from radiators. Wipe with a dry, soft cloth and store it closed in its carrying bag.
