Eagle Head Backgammon Set in Line Work by Hrachya Ohanyan
An eagle's head in profile — hooked beak, sharp eye, jagged feathers — in line work on a smooth disc, with scroll panels either side and diamond lattice to the rim. This is the 60 cm / 23.6″ wooden backgammon set made by Hrachya Ohanyan, classic outline. Handmade in beech, with 32 wooden checkers, dice and a carrying bag.
This is the board for the player who wants the bird as a badge — the head only, drawn sharp, at an everyday price. Every line is cut into the surface and left dark under the varnish: the beak hooks, the eye is a ring with a dot, the neck feathers run down in zigzags; a smooth ring closes the disc, a scroll ornament fills the lobed panel either side, and the whole ground is ruled into a diamond lattice with dark cells that runs on round the back.
Open, a walnut-brown field with pale drop-tipped points, a petal wheel drawn on each half and a plain brass hinge on the bar. For the scout leader, the flat with the flag, and the player who wants an eagle on the lid without paying for feathers in relief.

Why You'll Love It
- Sharp as a stamp: the head is drawn in clean dark lines, so beak, eye and feathers stay crisp from across the room and the lid stays flat under a hand.
- Lattice to the rim: the diamond lattice covers every field of the cover and the back, so the plain price does not mean a plain lid.
- Make it theirs: add a name or a date at checkout to mark a birthday, a retirement or years of games together.
Good to Know Before You Buy
Is the eagle carved? It is line work: the head, the scroll panels and the lattice are cut into the flat surface as dark lines, not raised in relief, so nothing catches dust. The petal wheels and drop tips inside are cut the same way. Varnish goes over everything; nothing is printed or applied.
What about shipping and returns? Shipping is free to the US, Canada and Europe, always tracked; other countries pay a flat $100 (Brazil, Chile and New Zealand $200). Every set is covered by our 30-day returns policy.
How do I look after it? Keep it out of direct sunlight and away from radiators. Wipe with a dry, soft cloth and store it closed in its carrying bag.
