Luxury Armenian Coat of Arms Walnut Backgammon Set in Blue Epoxy by Hrachya Ohanyan
The eagle and the lion of Armenia's arms, drawn in fine amber line over a disc of pearl-turquoise epoxy, set into a lid of carved basket weave. This is the 60 cm / 23.6″ luxury Armenian wooden backgammon set made by Hrachya Ohanyan, classic outline. Handmade in walnut, turquoise resin in the points, 32 checkers, dice and a branded case.
This is the board for the beach house, the Armenian office that wants colour on the shelf, and the player who wants the emblem in sea-blue rather than brown. The eagle and the lion, the quartered shield, the sword and the broken chain are cut in fine line and glow amber against a swirl of turquoise resin poured round them and polished flush. The disc sits in a rope-and-bead ring, and the lid either side is carved basket weave, strand over strand, inside cusped cartouches, lattice beyond.
Inside, the same turquoise runs through the game: the points are poured in pearl resin under scroll tips, the petal wheel on each half is ringed in the same blue, and a stamped brass hinge holds the bar. The back carries a chequerboard of turquoise resin and walnut squares between basket weave. For the summer house and the player who likes their emblem with a view of the sea.

Why You'll Love It
- The emblem on the sea: the arms are drawn in line and the disc around them is poured turquoise with a pearl swirl, so the eagle and lion read gold on blue from across the room.
- Basket weave you can feel: either side of the disc the lid is carved strand over strand, so the smooth glass of the resin sits between two fields of real texture.
- Make it theirs: add a name or a date at checkout to mark a birthday, a retirement or years of games together.
Good to Know Before You Buy
Is the coat of arms painted? No. The eagle, the lion and the shield are cut into the walnut in fine line work, warm amber against the blue, and the disc around them is filled with turquoise epoxy that is left to set, then sanded flush with the wood and polished. The points and rings inside and the squares on the back are poured in the same resin, the basket weave and lattice are carved by hand, and the board is varnished. Nothing is printed or applied.
What about shipping and returns? Shipping is free to the US, Canada and Europe, always tracked; other countries pay a flat $100 (Brazil, Chile and New Zealand $200). Every set is covered by our 30-day returns policy.
