World Map Walnut Backgammon Set in Blue Epoxy with Classic Outline by Hrachya Ohanyan
The world map in a lobed cartouche: every continent standing in walnut, the oceans poured in swirling blue and green epoxy, with a faceted lattice and rope borders around it. This is the 60 cm / 23.6″ walnut backgammon set made by Hrachya Ohanyan. Handmade in walnut, with 32 checkers, dice cut from billiard balls and a branded carrying case.
This is the board for the traveller who has stopped counting countries, the office with the globe in the corner, and the graduate leaving home. The resin moves like water — deep blue in the Atlantic, turquoise at the coasts, streaks of green where the currents run — and the coastlines are cut clean so the walnut land sits slightly proud of the sea. Around the panel the lid is a lattice of small facets edged in rope.
Inside, a walnut field with points drawn in fine line, a petal wheel in a scrolled ring on each half and the maker's stamped hinge on the bar. The back cover carries a chequerboard in the same lattice with an eternity whirl at each end. For the study, the departure lounge of a life, and anyone who plays on both sides of the ocean.

Why You'll Love It
- Land in walnut, sea in resin: the continents are the wood itself; only the oceans are poured, so the map has real relief and real grain.
- No two pours alike: the blue and green swirl differently in every board, which means the ocean on yours is the only one like it.
- Make it theirs: add a name or a date at checkout to mark a birthday, a retirement or years of games together.
Good to Know Before You Buy
Is the map carved or printed? Carved and poured. The continents are cut into the walnut and left standing, the oceans are filled with blue and green epoxy that is levelled and polished, and the lattice, rope borders, wheel ornaments and eternity whirls are carved. Nothing is printed.
What about shipping and returns? Shipping is free to the US, Canada and Europe, always tracked; other countries pay a flat $100 (Brazil, Chile and New Zealand $200). Every set is covered by our 30-day returns policy.
How do I look after it? Keep it out of direct sunlight and away from radiators. Wipe with a dry, soft cloth and store it closed in its carrying case.
