Luxury Stag and Tree Walnut Backgammon Set in Blue Epoxy by Hrachya Ohanyan
A stag whose antlers branch out into a whole tree, left standing in pale walnut over a disc of deep blue resin. This is the 60 cm / 23.6″ luxury wooden backgammon set made by Hrachya Ohanyan, classic outline. Handmade in walnut, resin-filled points inside, 32 checkers, dice cut from billiard balls and a branded case.
This is the board for the hunting lodge with a modern eye, the flat with the blue accent wall, and the player who wants one image and nothing fussy. The stag stands head up, and its antlers keep growing — into a crown of branches and leaves that fills the top of the disc — all cut from the walnut and left as wood, with the blue epoxy poured around every twig and polished level. A rope-and-bead ring and a lobed cartouche of star stipple hold the disc.
Inside, the blue returns in every point — the same pearl resin under carved fleur-de-lys tips — and in the petal wheel on each half, filled the same way, with a brass hinge stamped with the maker's mark on the bar and two eternity whirls drawn on the back. For the study, the anniversary, and the player who wants the forest on the lid and the sky in the board.

Why You'll Love It
- Antlers into branches: the stag and the tree are one piece of walnut left standing in the resin, every twig cut through, so the silhouette reads from across the room.
- Poured, not painted: the pearl-blue resin sits flush with the walnut on the lid and in the points, polished to one surface, so it cannot chip and the colour never rubs off.
- Make it theirs: add a name or a date at checkout to mark a birthday, a retirement or years of games together.
Good to Know Before You Buy
Is the stag painted? No. The stag and the tree are the walnut itself, cut through and left standing; the blue is epoxy resin poured into the disc around them, cured, sanded level and polished, so the picture is wood on colour rather than colour on wood. The points and the petal wheels inside are poured the same way. The board is varnished; nothing is printed or applied.
What about shipping and returns? Shipping is free to the US, Canada and Europe, always tracked; other countries pay a flat $100 (Brazil, Chile and New Zealand $200). Every set is covered by our 30-day returns policy.
How do I look after it? Keep it out of direct sunlight and away from radiators. Wipe with a dry, soft cloth and store it closed in its carrying case.
