Luxury Ornaments Walnut Backgammon Set for Three Players in Red Epoxy by Hrachya Ohanyan
The showpiece for three: walnut, with a rosette on every side left standing in pale wood over a disc of wine-red resin, scrolls at the corners and half the points poured red inside. This is the 50 cm / 19.6″ luxury wooden backgammon set for three players made by Hrachya Ohanyan. Handmade in walnut, 48 checkers, dice, branded bag.
This is the board for the collector of the three-sided family, the walnut dining room, and the player who wants colour without paint. On every cover the rosette — a flower in a wreath of curling leaves — sits in pale wood on a disc of deep wine-red resin, polished flush, with pale acanthus scrolls at the corners and a ground of chip-carved star stipple between; inside, every other point and the petal wheels are poured in the same red, so the field glows against the walnut.
Three leaves hinged in a chain open into a star round a central bar and fold to a chevron on cast-bronze clasps with a stamped hinge; the felt bag is cut to the shape. The game is the Armenian one for three — fifteen checkers each, three colours, first to bear off wins. For the collector who has the two-player epoxy boards, and the host with a table for three.

Why You'll Love It
- Red resin, three ways: the rosette discs on the covers, half the points and the petal wheels inside are all poured in the same wine-red epoxy, polished flush, so the colour runs through the whole set.
- The only one like it: the three-player boards come in plywood, beech and plain walnut — this is the one in walnut with epoxy, the top of the three-sided range.
- Make it theirs: add a name or a date at checkout to mark a birthday, a retirement or years of games together.
Good to Know Before You Buy
Is the red paint? No — it is epoxy resin, poured into the lowered discs on the covers and into every other point and petal wheel inside, left to cure and sanded flush with the walnut, then polished. The pale rosettes and scrolls are wood, not paint, and the star stipple round them is chip-carved. Three-player backgammon is the Armenian game devised in 2007: three colours, fifteen checkers each, first to bear off wins. Nothing is printed or applied.
