Luxury River Walnut Backgammon Set in Green Epoxy, Two-Sided by Hrachya Ohanyan
A river of pearl-green resin winding between two banks of live-edge walnut, poured across both covers and again through each half inside. This is the 60 cm / 23.6″ luxury wooden backgammon set made by Hrachya Ohanyan, classic outline, two-sided. Handmade in walnut, resin-filled field inside, 32 checkers, dice cut from billiard balls and a branded case.
This is the board for the flat with the resin dining table, the man who follows the woodworkers online, and the player who wants no carving and no picture — just wood and colour. The lid is two boards of walnut with their natural edges turned inwards, pale sapwood along each bank, and green resin poured into the gap: deep emerald at the edges, swirling paler and white in the middle, sanded flush and polished. Turn the board over and the river runs across the back the same way.
Inside, the river runs the length of each half between walnut banks, with the point tips carved as scallops at either end and a stamped brass hinge on the bar, so the checkers slide over wood and resin together. For the modern living room, the man who wanted a river table and settled for a river board, and the player who wants the newest thing in the range.

Why You'll Love It
- River on both covers and inside: the resin is not a panel set into the lid but the board itself — poured between the walnut on the front, the back and the inside, so wherever you look the river is there.
- Live edge, not a straight cut: the walnut banks keep the natural wane of the tree, sapwood and all, so every river on every board falls differently.
- Make it theirs: add a name or a date at checkout to mark a birthday, a retirement or years of games together.
Good to Know Before You Buy
Is the resin safe to play on? Yes — the epoxy is cured hard, sanded level with the walnut and polished to the same gloss, so the surface inside is one continuous sheet and the checkers slide across resin and wood alike. The green is pigment in the pour, not paint; the walnut edges are the natural edges of the boards. The whole set is varnished. Nothing is printed or applied.
What about shipping and returns? Shipping is free to the US, Canada and Europe, always tracked; other countries pay a flat $100 (Brazil, Chile and New Zealand $200). Every set is covered by our 30-day returns policy.
How do I look after it? Keep it out of direct sunlight and away from radiators. Wipe with a dry, soft cloth and store it closed in its carrying case.
