Who we are

A game board can be a piece of art.

Our goal is simple: to show the world the Armenian handmade craftsmanship behind backgammon sets and chess sets. We design and carve every piece in Armenia, a country where both games are practically a second language.

Every piece starts as raw walnut, beech, or oak and passes through one pair of skilled hands after another: carvers, joiners, finishers. The result is something you keep on the table, not in a box.

Our collections range from everyday play boards to luxury showpieces, so there is a piece for every table.

The craft

From plank to heirloom

  1. Design

Every piece begins on paper: proportions, ornament, story.

  2. Wood selection

Walnut, beech, or oak, chosen for grain and character.

  3. Carving & engraving

The slow part. Ornament emerges one cut at a time.

  4. Assembly

Boards, frames, and hinges fitted by hand.

  5. Finishing

Oils and lacquer bring out the grain and protect it for decades.

  6. Inspection

Nothing ships until it would pass in our own homes.

Materials

Three woods, one standard

Walnut

Deep and dark, the classic choice for heirloom boards.

Beech

Light, even grain that takes fine carving beautifully.

Oak

Bold texture and strength for pieces that work hard.

Plus epoxy resin and natural stone for our modern lines.

The collaboration

We work with Hrachya Ohanyan

Armenian National Master Hrachya Ohanyan works with us on signature chess and backgammon boards that are collected worldwide. His signed pieces anchor two collections of their own.

Alongside his signature line, we work with a small circle of Armenian workshops whose craft meets the same standard: every board carved, joined, and finished by hand.
