The walls
Built like a fortress
Castellated turrets, brick-textured walls and arched niches, all cut from solid beech and varnished by hand. The playing field is set in beech and walnut squares, framed on every side by battlements.
No molds, no shortcuts: every wall is carved, fitted and finished in an Armenian workshop.
The garrison
An army cast in bronze
Thirty-two pieces cast in bronze: knights, horsemen and castle rooks, each with armor detail fine enough to read by candlelight. Heavy in the hand, certain on the board.
Between games they stand watch in the arched niches, and the whole set reads as sculpture.
The armory
Secrets in the walls
Two drawers slide out of the base, lined in soft cloth and ready for captured pieces between battles. The fortress keeps its own armory.
It ships with a protective carrying bag, so the castle travels as well as it holds ground.

Returns and Exchanges
Each piece is made by hand and inspected before it ships. If yours arrives damaged, faulty, or not as described, send a few photos to contact@lionlaurel.com within 30 days and we'll arrange a replacement or full refund, usually with nothing to send back.
Changed your mind? Any order can be returned within 30 days of delivery, worldwide: unused and in its original packaging, with return shipping paid by the buyer. EU and UK customers also have a 14-day statutory withdrawal right and a 2-year guarantee on faults. Engraved pieces, custom commissions and gift cards can't be returned unless they arrive faulty.

Этот шахматный набор представляет собой скульптуру, выполненную в виде миниатюрной крепости. Цельное буковое дерево вручную вырезается в виде зубчатых башенок, стен с кирпичной текстурой и арочных ниш, затем вручную лакируется до блестящего состояния. Тридцать две бронзовые шахматные фигуры изображают рыцарей, всадников и ладей, каждая из которых отлита с детальной прорисовкой доспехов, а буковое и ореховое дерево служат для обозначения игровых полей доски.
Два боковых выдвижных ящика с мягкой обивкой открываются из основания для хранения взятых фигур, а набор изготовлен вручную в Армении и поставляется с собственным защитным чехлом для переноски.
