Frequently asked questions

Are these backgammon sets really handmade?

Yes — every board is hand-carved and finished in Armenia by master artisan Hrachya Ohanyan and his workshop. Because each one is made by hand, no two sets are ever identical.
What wood are the boards made from?

Solid walnut and beech, chosen for strength and grain character. The playing surface is carved and finished entirely by hand.
Do the sets come with checkers and a dice set?

Yes — each backgammon set ships complete with matching checkers and a dice set, ready to play out of the box. See each product page for exact contents.
Do you ship worldwide?

Yes, every order ships worldwide, carefully packed to protect the board in transit. Shipping is free to the US, Canada and Europe; other countries pay a flat $100 for tracked delivery (Brazil, Chile and New Zealand $200).
How do I care for a wooden backgammon board?

Wipe it with a soft, dry cloth and keep it away from direct sunlight and moisture. Solid wood boards age beautifully with this basic care.
